Project Size: 30 MWe 

Reykjavík Geothermal, in collaboration with DISA, a prominent energy company in the Canary Islands, is advancing the development of a geothermal project in La Palma. This joint venture aims to leverage geothermal resources to replace the island’s base load power, which is currently reliant on oil. 

The project has received a European Union grant of €14.5 million has been secured to fund drilling operations.  

This partnership positions Reykjavík Geothermal and DISA as leaders in renewable energy development in the Canary Islands, offering a sustainable, reliable alternative to conventional fossil-fuel-based power generation.
